Job Description
  • Reports to Head of Procurement and works closely with concerned stake holders to develop suppliers for indirect supplies.
  • In line with the framework of Global M&S and Business strategy, develop logistics supplier and manages them efficiently under Metso policies, procedures, and financial budget requirement.
  • Strategically plan and manage logistics Domestic & International, warehouse, transportation, and customer services
  • Spearhead sourcing of a portfolio of indirect categories
  • Develop category strategies, including market and industry analysis
  • Lead and manage the RFX, RFP process
  • Establish and maintain supplier relationships, and facilitate periodic business reviews to continually identify process improvements and cost reduction opportunities
  • Establish beneficial working relationships with various internal groups across the organization including partner programs, regional/country offices, legal, finance, and others
  • Prepare analyses of spend data, category supplier bases, and cost models
    Manage complex projects from conception through implementation, including change management
  • Meet cost, productivity, accuracy, and timeliness targets

  • Prepare and send Reports of related finished products to Management
  • Attend to the internal requirements of the Management Team.
  • Demonstrates cooperative team effort within work group.  Works effectively with other groups and departments, internal or external.  Demonstrates respect for others and acts in an appropriate and professional manner.
  • Assesses and prioritizes work requirements; develops and executes plans in a timely manner and accepts advice and/or direction well.
  • Be able to perform extensive travel, with short notice. Destinations are global
  • Be able to perform extended stays to perform the duties of the position. Extended stays are subject to accommodations as deemed, by Metso, reasonable for the circumstances.
  • Manage interaction with various cultures.

  • External service providers, as appropriate

 

POSITION SPECIFICATION

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Engineering or equivalent required; Post graduate studies in procurement preferred.
  • 12-15 years’ experience in business and procurement functions, with demonstrated increasing roles.
  • Superior organizational and analytical skills are essential. 
  • In addition to local language reading, writing and speaking skills; English language reading, writing and speaking skills at a professional level.
  • Strong knowledge of the business functions of sales, supply, engineering, finance, human resources, business systems and IT infrastructure. Experience with SAP ERP environmental preferred.

 

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

 

  • Excellent interpersonal skills to be able to relate to people from different cultural backgrounds and levels of organisational hierarchy and be willing to actively engage in problem solving opportunities.
  • Highly motivated individual with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. Should have a strong drive and performance orientation, an attitude of problem solving with high sense of urgency. Must possess good people management skills and a holistic view of human resource development.  
  • High analytical skills, a strategic vision, excellent negotiation and presentation skills.
  • Strong communication skills, plus co-operation, interpersonal and presentation skills to manage internal and external interfaces.
  • A high level of computer skills is essential – Excel, Word and PowerPoint
